Ignacio is a distinguished international expert in hospitality and tourism, bringing unparalleled expertise in high-end hospitality, customer service, destination marketing, vocational training, e-learning, circular economy applications in tourism, international cooperation, digital transformation, sustainable tourism and innovation.

With extensive experience spanning all five continents, Ignacio has successfully led and participated in complex multi-stakeholder projects focused on driving the tourism sector forward. A natural communicator, he excels as an MC, coach, trainer and speaker at global fora delivering impactful insights on digitalization, sustainability, and circularity in tourism.

Known for his resourcefulness, communication and diplomatic skill set, Ignacio thrives in multicultural settings, embodying professionalism, ethical standards, and collaboration. Academically, he holds a Bachelor’s in Tourism Management from URV, Spain, as well as advanced degrees, including a Master’s and Ph.D. in Development Studies from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva, Switzerland. As a certified trainer with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), Ignacio is also part of the pioneering faculty for the first Bachelor's programme in International Sustainable Tourism, a collaboration between UN Tourism and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and he is also a member of the Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Tourism WestMED.
