Dr. Achim Schmitt is the Dean of Graduate School and Full Professor of Strategy at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL). As former turnaround and bankruptcy consultant, Achim has gained substantial knowledge in strategy formulation, corporate turnarounds and managing underperforming business situations. Academically, Achim has gained experience at the University of Geneva (Switzerland), the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland), China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai (China), the Collège des Ingenieurs (CDI) in Paris (France), Columbia Business School (USA), Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) and Audencia Business School (France). Achim holds a PhD from the University of Geneva, obtained his Habilitation at the University of Paris-Dauphine in France, and is a Visiting Professor at the University of Geneva in Switzerland. He regularly advises and assists service and hospitality firms in strategic matters of growth, expansion, crisis and decline.
